The easiest way to hack!

One step hacking for our dear N78

Sign and Install HelloOX.1.03.Unsigned.sis, just run it after installed.

Please note: must sign with a 17 capability Dev Cert

HelloOx will do all the steps and even remove itself.
What it does?
1. Unpack exe files to E:\hack\sys\bin\
2. Map Drives
3. Install rootCerts
4. Install ROMPatcher (optional)
5. Install Modo (optional)
6. Remove unneeded files and mapped drives
7. Done!

FAQ:
1. Now if you are wondering what is developer certificate is, and where you can get it?
A. you'll have to have some patience.. The best place is OPDA
, but you need to register. I used google translator to translate and i could download the certificate.

2. How to sign the file..
A. I have two signers attatched for download, one to sign on phone, the other on PC.

3. How to install unsigned software?
A. Sign it with the leftup certificate packaged with HelloOx file. Otherwise you'll have to copy installserver patch to Patches directory on E: drive and activate the patch through Rompatcher!

Make the most of your N78 Keypad with MagicKeys by Leftup!

Your N78 does not have a shift/pencil button. Instead the shift/pencil button
functionality is bundled with the "#" key. So bad you miss out on so many useful
features, because the "#" key is used for number entry on the standby screen
(and has text entry role in many symbian s60 applications). Hence it is unusable
as a shift key in that context.

With MagicKeys you can map your Multimedia button to Shift/Pencil!

Many launcher applications have shortcut keys assigned based on the shift
key. These don't work on your N78, leaving you frustrated!
For example, the wonderful Best Taskman application allows you shortcut keys
based on the shift+{key} combination. Though a different topic altogether, I
would like to highlight that Best Taskman has shortcut keys for Windows Alt-Tablike interface, Quick Shortcut hotkey and a different hotkey for launching the Taskman (I hate the long-press-Menu-button method!).

Whats more, you can also map the Camera key as a different key. I have mapped
my Camera key as a multimedia key in all applications except the Camera itself
(Did I forget to mention that you can map different keys for different
applications also!). The other map that I have done is to use the Volume keys as
Page Up and Page Down keys in Opera Mini.

The is a new one step hacking now for new firmware. One step hacking tutorial here!

Why this? >>

But the Symbian OS which runs your N78, Symbian v9.3 S60 3rd Edition, FP 2 [v3.2] (s60v3 for short), has been hacked!

If you are a new N78 owner, and find yourself locked out, here's how to free your phone. This guide/tutorial has not been made by me entirely, i am just bringing it to you!

Step 1

  1. Install Xplore.sis on your phone.
  2. Install Hellocarbide on your phone
  3. Install secman.sis on your phone
Step 2
  1. Run Xplore, goto Menu>Tools>Configuration (or simply press 0)
  2. Select Show Hidden Files, ROM drives, Ram Drives, sytem files/folders and press Back
Step 3
  1. Without closing Xplore switch to Standby and open HelloCarbide
  2. Goto Option>Menu1. Then press Yes.
Step 4
  1. Switch back to Xplore
  2. Open Patch.zip (Actually it is pach.zip)
  3. Goto Menu> File>Extract to...and Select C:
Step 5
  1. For java permissions, unzip "Java_permissions.zip" to C: (root)
  2. To install unsigned applications, unzip "installserver.zip" to C: (root)
  3. This also installs "CProfDriver_SISX.ldd", required for CapsOn/CapsOff
  4. To disable camera sounds, unzip "Camera_sounds_off.zip" to C: (root)
(Note: u have to set "warning tones > off" in profile and restart)
Step 6
  1. Restart phone
  2. Open secman
  3. Goto options and select the SECOND option (yeah its in Arabic) and press left selection key.
  4. Install CapsOn.sisx & CapsOff.sisx
Result
  1. Now you may install any unsigned file, no more expired certificates/signsis/symbiansigned!!
  2. Access to filesystem (Just run CapsOff to get access to filesystem, run CapsOn to restore protection.
Note that CapsOn & CapsOff have no indication or GUI when run!
Notes
  1. If you are worried about security, just delete "installserver.exe" from C:\sys\bin.
Now you may install any release from BinPDA, or any other unsigned file only after
signing with with Rootsign (BinPDA) or SignSis.
  2. For java permissions, you need to have Rompatcher, with the C2Z patch.
The patch has to be applied after opening "App. manager".
After you change the permissions of the required files, you can disable the patch, the settings will still be saved!!
The index of patches is here.., you need to register!
